With this photographic project Estela de Castro aims to raise awareness about animal abuse through portraits of animals rescued from situations of abandonment, hunting, circus, zoo, laboratories and slaughterhouses. These moving images take a position on how we look at the world, making no distinction between animals and humans, a starting point in which they recover their dignity and look at us as equals. They invite us to reflect on the way we classify, control and dominate everything humans have called species. If we set aside the division of species, each of these beings has in its present, in its life, the same right to dignity and fullness as the rest.
