A Swiss photographer finds the Japanese spirit of wabi-sabi in nature. Dew, also known as a seasonal word for autumn in Japanese poetry, is a natural phenomenon that appears briefly at the change of seasons, when morning and evening temperatures differ. Swollen drops of water on branches and leaves, just about to fall, reflect the light and mirror the landscape like lenses.
For more than ten years the photographer pursued these drops at very close range and, in the process, found an aesthetic value close to the ancient Japanese wabi-sabi: finding beauty in the changes brought by nature and time, and savouring silence in depth. The book is composed of 178 black-and-white photographs of drops and eleven verses in which Matsuo Bashō, Yosa Buson, Kobayashi Issa and other poets describe scenes of dew: a quiet, luxurious art book in which to taste the clear world that nature creates.
