Photobook dummy by Theresa Wißmann (Germany), shortlisted for the Dummy Award 2026. The book focuses on the potato, a frequently overlooked protagonist that plays a significant role in world history and in reflections on the future of humanity. It explores the cultural history of the potato through photography and research, with a touch of humour. The title borrows the German classification for potatoes that stay firm when cooked. The pale green cover carries the title and the author's name in grey capitals and a collaged photograph of a pink potato bound with a plaster, and the pages are stitched with red thread. The Dummy Award, organised by the PhotoBookMuseum in Cologne, shortlisted 48 unpublished dummies from about 325 entries from more than 45 countries; the shortlist travels on a world tour of photography events and venues.
