The first photobook by the twins Yuki and Koki Daido, born in 1994 and raised in Osaka, tracing seven years of their pictures and made as a joint work: they show each other what they shot separately, look it over again, blend their different experiences and images, and choose and join them. It first appeared in 2021 as a private edition of one hundred copies from their own label Sakura no Hana Hompo and is now co-published with Akaaka. Without words they leave their differences as they are and question each other through photographs, and which brother took which picture is never stated. Documentary pictures made mostly on film, with a DIY spirit, of the trite, banal and mundane, seen with a cool, empathetic eye that draws humour, melancholy and irony from rapidly vanishing scenes of Japanese society.
