"Through the creation of this book of photographs I look forward to a release from my enchantment with cats." Published in 2015 by Zen Foto Gallery, Masayuki Nakaya's Neko yo Sayonara is the photographer's second body of published works since his well received first publication Nekopathy in 2011. Within this publication is a collection of photographs which playfully depict a series of portraits of cats and the city scape of Tokyo. Here Nakaya presents an exploration into the landscape of the city to each reader through the distinct and individual portraitures of the cats, taking the reader along an amusing journey of hide and seek which is both visually playful and reflective of the very nature and personalities of the photographed subject.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
