Over many years, this photographer visited a rainforest island many times to document the daily life of a partially nomadic indigenous people. Their way of life as hunter-gatherers is critically threatened by illegal logging and oil palm plantations. A selection of myths collected by a linguist and anthropologist are published for the first time alongside the photographs, painting a nuanced portrait of this unique culture.
