Innkeeper of a classic Swiss village pub, and at the same time a gifted and tireless amateur photographer who left behind an estate of around 14,000 slides. His goal was never the artistic image, but rather capturing impressions, moments, and situations -- preserving the transient. The pictures bear witness to his enthusiasm for his subjects and his joy in the encounters and events they recorded. The poses shown belong to another, pre-digital era, when being considered worth a picture still felt like an honor. This book invites reflection on one's own memories as much as it evokes nostalgia.
