On November 3rd, 1995, the military weapons factory of the city of Río Tercero, in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, exploded. The executive branch declared it was an accident when in fact, the warehouses were intentionally blown up in order to hide pieces of evidence of arms-trafficking in which the president Carlos Menem was involved. Seven people were killed, and more than three hundred wounded, and the city crammed with shards and warfare ammunitions which citizens brought to their homes as souvenirs.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
