A four-year project of drone photographs of construction sites in Atlanta. Peter Essick uses an aerial perspective to transform the mundane materials of active construction sites into striking modernist abstractions. Stripping away the horizon line, he forces the viewer to confront the human-altered landscape as a series of intricate textures and patterns, and to look closely at the fleeting, hidden architecture that underpins modern life, capturing the art found in the act of building.
