Scouarnec works in interaction with the natural world, and for some years has been involved with wildlife care centres. In her first book she accounts for the time spent in those places by asking what the temporary captivity of a rescued wild animal is. The pictures are made close up and from angles that are slightly off, and what they hold is the encounter between a hurt animal and the people looking after it.
