Photography and architecture often meet: the architect frequently delegates to the camera the task of documenting and promoting his work, and for some time photographs and photomontage have been used by architects in the planning phase, as notebooks in which to jot down ideas for composition or construction. The volume reads the relation between the two disciplines through the legacy of a celebrated pair of artists who made the typological survey of industrial structures their life's work.
