Written collectively by the founders of WomanShare, this is a document of a life made in rupture: a group of women who left the city, men and capitalism to build, in 1974, a self-managed lesbian community in southern Oregon. Drawing on radical feminism and on the back-to-the-land movement, they built a life together on twenty-three acres, free of hierarchy, working the land.
