Crushed is Jason Fulford's second book. This selection of color photographs was inspired by the contrasting feelings of sadness and humor. One interpretation being that beauty and humor can be both an antidote and necessary companion to melancholy.

The pictures were taken from 1997 to 2001 in the United States, Canada, France, Hungary, India, Iceland, China and Romania. "Generally speaking, the imperfection in everything human is that its aspirations are achieved only by way of their opposites.
