At Pentecost 1991 about 50 people occupied factory halls and residential buildings on the grounds of the former Wohlgroth gas-meter factory by the tracks near Zürich's main station. It was the beginning of the largest national squatting action, which only found its abrupt end two and a half years later with the complete demolition of the buildings. The pictures were made in autumn 1993. As the eviction loomed, four photographers who had lived and worked there documented the interior and exterior spaces of the most significant alternative cultural centre in Switzerland.
