Italian / English text

What is - or rather, what was - the sense of memories, of the thoughts of a buried memory that surface in our mind as apparently clear images? Some let us sense their existence, but in fact we can know nothing of them. As if we were looking at the back of a photograph, like old negatives or unwanted double exposures, like completely overturned images. Are they recent memories, or events and images of a past we cannot know how remote? Are they real? And the phrases we remember - what do they mean, or did they mean? Non correre is a book that does not speak of Alzheimer's, nor of any other form of dementia. What the book takes as its purpose and aspiration is that the reader perceive that very little which otherwise escapes us.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is an archive of independent books on photography and visual culture: photobooks, publications, design books and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
