Unwanted Butterfly spent half of his forty years behind bars, which gave him plenty of time to have his whole body tattooed. He was an unusual sight in socialist Hungary, at ease both in prison and in the Budapest underground scene, doing gigs with the band Sziámi at the Black Hole alternative club, and drawing, painting, making puzzles and writing a journal. Photojournalist Tamás Urbán met him in 1988 in the Csillag Prison of Szeged. The book presents a selection of the photographs taken over the following six years, until Butterfly's death in 1994, together with objects and documents collected by Urbán and pages of Butterfly's journal.
