Fleischmann is a collaboration between Sven Marquardt, Esther Perbandt and Nicholas Mockridge. The project focuses on the life and work of the exceptional artist Volker Spengler, who died in 2020. He left a powerful legacy to the German cultural landscape, not only through his timeless portrayal of the transgender Elvira Weishaupt in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's In a Year with 13 Moons. The book is a homage to Volker Spengler.
