With Wolfgang Weber another great photojournalist from the great era of the illustrated press is to be discovered. Together with colleagues such as Erich Salomon, Felix H. Man, Umbo and Tim Gidal, he developed in the Weimar Republic a modern form of photo reporting. Like many photographers of his time he also supplied the texts for his reportages and travel accounts. Weber reported comprehensively on problems in postwar Germany and later concentrated on reports from the United States, the Soviet Union, India, China and Africa. On his countless journeys he began in the 1960s to replace the stills camera with the film camera.
