Stephan Schenk is a German photographer who has lived in Chur, Graubünden, for twelve years. In his role as museum restorer he accompanies works of art on their journeys. In his first book, “Zimmer mit Aussicht”, he published a conceptual photo series showing, as objectively as possible, the view from the hotel rooms “assigned” to him at the respective exhibition venues. These pictures, the second part of which is presented in the exhibition, captivate with their matter-of-factness, which nevertheless admits an emotional world from romanticism to homelessness.
