A journey to sacred India, listening to the presence of a land where memory and prayer have piled up and travelling as if guided by the sun and the moon. The photographs and words of the two authors sometimes cross and overlap, flowing to a place of silence. The actress Mayu Tsuruta and the photographer Kisei Kobayashi travelled together through southern India: the foot of Arunachala, where holy men trained, the Hampi ruins, a sacred site since ancient times, and the great water region known as the backwaters. Meeting people and landscapes, they touch the depths of the country's timeless flow, and the journey turns into an inner one; countless sounds and immeasurable light seem to reach us from inside the photographs. Tsuruta writes of places where one feels a timeless flow beneath the noisy surface and the boundary with the world disappears; Kobayashi, that a landscape alone makes no sound, but when a person stands there it tilts towards the person and a quiet sound begins, so that a trip abroad became a journey to a further foreign land.
