Portraits and words of 62 women by Kawori Inbe. Four years after the much-discussed Yappa tsuki kaeru wa, watashi, Inbe went on photographing women who applied through her website. They appear before her in crucial moments of their lives, amid significant changes, ongoing problems or unresolved worries, bringing the tremors, questions and contradictions that arise between people and between people and society. Being photographed is an act of expression, and many of the photographed women have something to convey; the urge to express oneself, even in its negative aspects, may be particularly strong in women. Images born of repeated conversations appear in photographs and in words, a creation beyond the roles of subject and photographer that layers document and fiction in a new way, with the humour, boldness and pride that anger, sadness and questions give rise to. For the first time the spoken words of the women are included, and the title is a line spoken by a perpetrator in a real incident.
