Photographer Muhammad Fadli and writer Fatris MF spent years travelling to the Banda Islands, the remote Indonesian archipelago that was for centuries the world's only source of nutmeg and mace. Their reportage moves between the present-day islands and the violent colonial history that made them a prize fought over by European powers, telling the story through landscape, portraits, ruins and the accounts of those who live there now.
