In 2012 Anne Schönharting began photographing the residents of Charlottenburg in their natural habitat. Over more than ten years she portrayed and staged people and their flats in this traditional, “better” district of the city. The sitters must have taken a liking to the photographer's quiet but determined manner, for they recommended her on and on. In her carefully composed pictures we see people and their flats in wondrous situations. Women, men, couples, families, students, children, all in their very own style. Sometimes only the view of an empty room or a window tells us their story.
