In BTS (Behind The Scenes), Takashi Homma turns his lens on the unnoticed rituals of protection and concealment that shape everyday life. Shot primarily in Tokyo, with small detours to Colombia, Hawaii and elsewhere, the book is a collection of images of covered cars, trees hidden by drapes, closed windows, snowy landscapes and figures wrapped in layers of clothing until their faces are covered. What emerges is a study of surfaces, a reflection on screens and the spaces between what is shown and what remains hidden. BTS tells of a world that is constantly grappling with something to prepare or hide: an invisible choreography that takes place strictly behind the scenes.

ABOUT

SpineIndex is a digital platform dedicated to independent photobooks, photography publications, design books, and self-published editions — the kind of work that rarely makes it into bookshop windows or mainstream catalogues. It exists to document, connect, and keep visible a world of publishers, artists, and makers who operate outside conventional distribution. A living reference for anyone who takes this territory seriously — collectors, researchers, students, and the simply curious.
