Between 1925 and 1931 the photographer Dante Bravo carried out, on a commission from Gabriele d'Annunzio, a series of campaigns in the monumental complex of the Vittoriale degli Italiani and in the rooms of the Prioria, in order to record both the progress of the work on the great project of a citadel of memory — dedicated to the Italian victory in the first war and to the poet's own military exploits — and the arrangement of the rooms.
