For No Buddha in Suburbia, Peter Bialobrzeski returns to India, the subcontinent where in the 1990s he took the pictures for his first book (XXXHoly). This new photographic study of society and urban planning is the result of an invitation from the Goethe Institute to Mumbai. Mumbai's suburbs are among the largest in area and most densely populated urban spaces on earth. In contrast to the Western, rather contemplative understanding of suburbia, these are teeming, fast-growing megacities.
